Following on from our Appliqué workshop, An Introduction to Celtic Knots with Annabel Groom, moves on to the next step. Use your existing skills in Applique to conquer the complexities of the celtic knot. This intricate and technical method is used to create designs on fabric using either narrow bias binding or clever interlocking piecing methods. Designs can often be connected with celtic ancestry and can in turn add a personal feature to a traditional patchwork block quilt.
This class follows our two day Beginners course and gives you the opportunity to focus on this one technique. You will be working on an individual patchwork block which can later be made into a cushion or used alongside other blocks as part of a whole quilt.
Our series of workshops called “An Introduction to Patchwork and Quilting” starts on 22nd September with a two day course for beginners. Other workshops in the series include An Introduction to Appliqué, this workshop, and An Introduction to Machine Quilting. The classes can be booked individually to allow you to focus on one area or as a whole series, which enables you to make a whole patchwork quilt.
